Food for Life Scotland: Transforming food culture

The Soil Association’s Food for Life Scotland programme, funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Soil Association Scotland, is transforming food culture north of the border.

Who’s involved?

Food for Life Scotland is working with public and private sector caterers, growers and producers, cooks and communities to transform food culture, by serving food that is good for people and the planet.

More than 14 million catering mark meals are served in Scotland every year by a range of organisations including a growing number of local authorities - 1 in 3 primary schools in Scotland now serve Food for Life meals!

Linking culture, caterers, curriculum and communities

The Food for Life Scotland Education Framework is an exciting new initiative for Scotland’s schools. Building on the work already taking place through the Food for Life Catering Mark Award, the Framework is supporting pilot schools to embed and celebrate a whole-school approach to food education.
