Since enrolling with Food for Life in April, Brunshaw Primary School in Lancashire have transformed their outside space into a flourishing growing area.
Pupils across the year groups have been getting involved with the new gardening club which meets weekly. After clearing the beds that line school entrance, they are now busy revitalising the space using plants from their local gardening centre.
The gardening club have so far planted potatoes and will be planting more vegetables including tomatoes, onions and a herb garden. In the classroom, they have also been growing cress, beans, pea pods and sunflowers.
The gardening club hope to celebrate their harvest later this year and use the produce for classroom cooking activities.
