Guest speakers included representatives from Greenwich University, Sustain, The Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, Produced in Kent and many more. Grace delivered a presentation on the Food for Life commission in Medway.
The Food for Life training team (Faye, Lee and Rupert) delivered a fantastic Food for Life Inspires! training session to 21 Medway staff on the 30th November. Participants included primary schools, secondary schools, and staff from Medway Council. The day introduced participants to practical cooking and growing activities they could develop in their own schools and settings with children, including the aloo tikka recipe, and making seed pots. It was a brilliant day, with staff enjoying themselves and leaving the training inspired!
Grace was invited to meet The Worshipful Mayor of Medway, Councillor Jan Aldous, to tell her all about the Food for Life programme in Medway. The Mayor was very interested to hear about Food for Life’s work with schools, supporting a whole-school approach to food across the district. Grace invited the Mayor to attend a school lunchtime together in the spring and have a school dinner – so watch this space!
