Support from the Food for Life Team
We offer a range of support to caterers to help achieve the Food for Life Served Here award, including benchmarking, progress review, staff training, marketing support and bespoke packages to promote meal uptake.Caterers using our benchmarking option achieve the award 7 weeks sooner than those who don't and typically receive 34% fewer non-compliances on inspection.
Use the Food for Life Served Here points calculator to see where you are scoring points to help achieve the award at silver and gold. There are separate ones for patient food and staff & retail food. Please ensure you download the appropriate one for your application.
Food for Life Served Here Supplier Scheme
Our supplier scheme links caterers to suppliers who can help them achieve Food for Life Served Here. Members of the Supplier Scheme receive training about how to support caterers through the award inspection process and renewal. Working with a Supplier scheme members is very beneficial as they can help with audit trails and inspections, they can supply compliant products, even source or develop new lines that meet the Food for Life Served Here standards. The Supplier Scheme can help connect caterers with local producers, as well as national suppliers, saving caterers money and time. We encourage our award holders to market their achievements by putting our logo onto menus, websites and shouting about it on social media. We offer support from our expert marketing team. Once caterers are awarded, we will share our free caterer toolkit, with a template press release, suggested social media posts and wording to use on websites and newsletters. Certification officer's will share our logo to download, as well as posters, postcards and table talkers.
