Natalie Hackett, Headteacher at New Lubbesthorpe Primary School in Leicestershire has won the School Leader Food Hero Award for her fantastic work in leading her school’s approach to food and introducing amazing activities and initiatives like a cooking club and school garden.

New Lubbesthorpe Primary School hold a Food for Life Silver Award, which means their school food is 75% freshly prepared and 5% organic and that they embed a whole school approach to food from canteen to classroom.

In Lancashire, Ingol Community Primary School, who hold a Food for Life Foundation Award, have won the Kindness and Community Award for their dedication to feeding their community good food. Each week, they batch cook 120 meals and send them home to families of children attending the school.

We couldn’t be prouder to see both schools recognised for their achievements in the school food space and look forward to seeing what they do in the future.

A huge congratulations from all of us at Food for Life!
