The panel has a wide range of experience in greening the very heart of the capital and includes: Jack Wilson, Client Farm Operations Lead at Square Mile Farms, Zoe McIntyre, General Manager at Hackney School of Food, Peter Weeden, Chief Director at The Culpeper, Tom Butterworth, Nature Leader at Arup’s Wild West End, and Grace Dennis, Food for Life Programme Manager - Soil Association.

Rosalind Rathouse Founder of The Cookery School said: “We established our new series of topical evening talks to shine a light on some of the most serious food issues which face us today and to highlight some of the leading individuals and businesses who are making a difference by refusing to take the normal path. Knowing where our food comes from is part of the solution to better understanding food sustainability and it's importance. Our third conversation brings together some amazing people who are growing and cooking quality produce in the most surprising of locations and sharing their experience and vision for a better food future for all and for future generations.”

Soil Association Food for Life Programme Manager Grace Dennis said: “This promises to be a fun and informative evening bringing together an abundance of experience of inner city gardening and a passion for cooking fantastic healthy and sustainable food for all.

“We are delighted to be showcasing some great examples of what schools and communities around London have planned for this year’s Plant and Share month and to demonstrate how easy and accessible it is for everyone to participate and benefit from growing and sharing, from first time growers to community organisers and city farmers. There are so many benefits from learning about where food comes from, the nutritional value of fresh produce, understanding how we can tackle some of the biggest challenges facing nature and the climate, and improving our own health and wellbeing.”

The evening will begin with a short cookery demonstration by Rosalind Rathouse who will be making Kuku Sabzi – a Persian dish full of fresh herbs – while guests will be treated to seasonal canapes made with locally grown ingredients and drinks. The panel will begin at 7pm for an hour and a half and then guests will be encouraged to get their fingers dirty by planting tomato plant and basil seedlings to take home.
