On Wednesday 13th November 2024, join schools and caterers across the country to showcase great school food by joining Food for Life’s Share a School Dinner Day.
What is Share a School Dinner Day?
It celebrates the importance of a healthy, freshly prepared and sustainable school lunch. It encourages children to try school meals and shines a spotlight on the hard work of cooks and caterers.
It is held midway through National School Meals Week and sees caterers, schools and their communities come together to enjoy great school food. This could be shared in person by inviting parents or community members into school for a meal or tasting event. Or share pictures of your school food on your school’s social media channels or in your school newsletter. It’s a fantastic opportunity to promote school dinners and encourage children to try school meals.
Share your photos on social media using #ShareASchoolDinnerDay and tagging @SAFoodforlife
Why not share the photos in your school newsletter too? This will showcase your brilliant school food to parents and carers.
Even better, why not invite parents or your school community members into school to share a hot lunch with pupils, or run a tasting event after school?
