As part of the Soil Association, Food for Life is the UK’s guiding light on School and Early Years meal provision and food education. For over 15 years we’ve been helping the nation’s children eat nutritious food and get cooking and growing as part of the curriculum.
Since the Coronavirus crisis forced normal schooling to be suspended, we’ve seen a shift in focus towards the essential need to grow and prepare food. Teachers and parents alike are finding new ways to bring the curriculum to life. Good food has taken on new significance for everyone in these uncertain times.
That’s why we’re making membership of the Food for Life programme available to all schools in the UK, free of charge, until the end of July.
When you enrol you will receive:
- Online access to Food for Life and Jamie Oliver Kitchen Garden Project resources
- Access to a personalised Food for Life portal, including your own blog to share your achievements. The blog is hosted on the Food for Life website for all schools and parents to see.
Independent evaluation has shown that joining Food for Life has increased school meal take up, attendance, increased confidence of staff and enriched their school curriculum. It could also help your school meet Ofsted criteria.
