Throughout the work we do at the Soil Association we see that the biggest impact can come from those on the ground, at the forefront of the food system where real and lasting change can be implemented.
Across our various areas of work, we empower those producing and providing food for others. Whether that’s with farmers and local growers producing food, the teachers and caterers we work with through our Food for Life awards and certifications. All these areas are made possible by incredible people wanting to make a difference in the places where they live. By supporting community champions to connect people through good food we can start to build the much needed solutions to societal and health issues we currently face.
As the Soil Association we are one of the three leading partners in Sustainable Food Places, along side Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming and Food Matters plus nation partners Food Sense Wales and Nourish Scotland.
Sustainable food Places is a UK wide network that brings together pioneering food partnerships from towns, cities, boroughs, districts and counties across the UK that are driving innovation and best practice on all aspects of healthy and sustainable food. Putting people and partnerships at the very centre of the solution.
